Her birth date was March 29, 1985 in Roswell New Mexico. Her birth name was Gerina Mendoza. Gerina Stevenson's parents were Mexican Alan Stevenson & Rita Stevenson. Her heritage is Mexican-American and is American in the nationality. Since the age of a child, she has had a strong determination to be involved in athletics. Gerina was a golfer when she was just the age of fifteen. Gerina finished her high-school education through Goddard High School. In high school she won the state championship golf tournament in New Mexico. Also, she was a volleyball player who competed at the national level. She attended the University of Texas in 2003. Her senior year was a success. she was a winner in every tournament she took part in. In her undergraduate year, she received as the conference's best player of year as well as UTEP Female Athletic of Year.
